TREASURY CHAMBERS,

31st July, 1855.

I AM directed by The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit to you the Copy of a Letter from the Postmaster General, in which he suggests that the control of the Post Offices in the British Colonies in the West Indies should be surrendered to the Colonial Governments, and I am to request that you will lay the same before Sir William Molesworth, and move him to favour their Lordships with his opinion upon this proposal.
